Talk on data science with R applied to the agricultural sector. It introduces programming languages, free software, the R language, open technologies and open data, and the concepts of data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning, including the trade-off between complexity and interpretability. It shows applications in agriculture (SIPRA, Agrosavia information systems, SoilGrids, Chitale in India), the data analysis workflow with the tidyverse, learning resources, papers on machine learning in plant tissue culture, and an example based on genetic programming for in vitro tissue culture.
